Default 2001 LS6 heads Vs. 2002 LS6 heads

Are there any differences between the 01 and 02 Z06 heads besides the valves and springs? Are the heads them selves the same for all the LS6 engines? Thanks for the help.

I maybe wrong but I thought the 2002 LS6 heads had better springs and porting. Giving the 2002 that 405 hp over the 2001 at 385 ??

From what I read the extra HP for the 02 z06 came from a different cam and exhaust manifold and springs. Not sure on the porting.

It is my understanding the only difference in the two heads is the exhaust valve. The 02's and later had a sodium filled valve which is lighter. The current LS2 heads are the same 243's that came on 01 Z06's and do not have the lighter valves.
