OK, thanks to the Hurricane Rita evac I need a new clutch. I will likely add an LS6 assembly, complete with flywheel. I am also interested in a cam swap and header install. Would pulling the motor be easier to reach both objectives at once or would a rear suspension/tranny/torque tube/radiator/steering assembly drop be better (as these are the common procedures to reach each objective separately).
dont do LS6 clutch. its a waste, and you will run into problems later on.. especially if you are going with cam/headers! do a search for "sticking clutch pedal"

How did the Rita evac affect your clutch? BTW I have a texstrallia clutch and love it but if you go the oem route check out the ls7 with a ls2 flywheel set up.
14 miles in 8 hours.... 5-10 feet at a time. My left foot was numb. If you didn't stay on the bumper of the car ahead of you you lost your spot. My clutch was really shakey and required a lot of slippage by the end of the evac. After it sat for a day it was OK for driving around during my first drag attempt a few days back the runflats hooked up better than the clutch. I am not kidding. I could only smell clutch. The car has only a few boltons and 18k miles so I don't think that is normal wear and tear.
