Exotic sound possible in a C5?
I have TUBIS and an x pipe on my 99FRC it has smoother , lets say refined sound which is what I was looking for , very happy with them .

What incredibly fierce, yet buttery sounds. I've never heard any Vette with any exhaust come close to sounding like either of those cars. I've listened to Corsa's, Borla's, Loudmouth, B&B, etc. They all seem to be variations of "mean and loud", but none make the hair on the back of your neck stand up like an Italian supercar.
IF you want the hair on your back to stand on end, get a good lopy cam, Long Tubes, 3" pipes and no muffler, just a staight pipe. or better yet put a LS7 or C5R 427ci block in your car.
Now that rumble is exotic

Sorry I don't have a clip, but try to imagine this:
Supercharged F1R 427, heads, cam, etc
Kooks 1 7/8 long tubes, no cats, PRT cat back (which is basically straight through)
Trust me, this combo sounds wicked at idle, and as soon as it hits boost, it just sounds insane!!!!
I've got to say, myself - seeing you behind that porsche the whole times, looks like you didn't even try to pass the porsche at all?
The whole time, he was saying that the guy in the porsche has more guts, and wouldn't be passed by you.
All I could say, was that if it was me in the car, the porsche would have been in the rear view.
Please reply to what he says - he doesn't have the guts to say this, but he gave me permission to post it.
P.S. - He says he can beat me on the track too - so, I keep telling him that I'm a much higher calibre of a driver than he, and I told him that if he can beat me in his corsica, 5 laps on Sebring, that I'd give him my Vette - the 2001.
(sad thing is, that he is dead serious, but he's never seen competition like me)

you guys obviously don't know anything about vetterdstr or his car. And your friend couldn't pass anyone with his Corsica if he doesn't have the guts to speak for himself
talk is cheap. Horsepower speaks volumes.
The Corsa indys are known for more of an exotic shriek... I think Kooks headers w/ Corsa indys would give a nice sound.
As for the ferrari sound... it's akin to when I was 16 and asked a mechanic at the ford dealership how to make my Probe GT sound like a Mustang GT... his reply... "well you'd have to put a mustang V8 in it!" Kind of the same... if you want Ferrari sound get one.
BTW one day I will have an F-355 vert with Tubi exhaust for cruising... one day.

The F430 is only eight cylinders. Why is the sound so amazing? Is there anything we mortals can do to approximate that whining exotic roar???

My car sounds very exotic with the Brullen Exhaust
After this post, I will not return.
I wasn't making the post to take shots at him, I was wondering personally if he was just getting track time, not competing to pass the porsche - from what I saw, he didn't try, and it just looked like he was cruising. I know at Sebring, that there are no passing zones, and looking at how small that track was, it looks like you really have no time to open the car up and make many passes, it would be hard, but it's possible.
2nd of all, You don't know me, and yes, I have read up about his car - and I like it - can't stand ****** like you, you have to go off and take my post out of context, this is why I never stray from my homeland forum that I run, don't get people like you, Csokd.
NOT RETURNING FOR ANY REASON, TAKES JUST ONE PERSON.
Though I was going to make some good friends here, but I find people like you, kinda sucks man.

They finished 1,2,3,4 at Infineon Raceway, beating out the Vette's, Vipers Porsches, Mustangs and Audi's.
BMW e46 M3 - 420 Horsepower
Corvette Z06 - 535 Horsepower
Horsepower doesn't mean **** when you have the best drivers piloting a superior vehicle.
So, your "horsepower speaks volumes" doesn't mean anything at all...absolutely nothing.
Too bad you had to go and **** me off.
