I have a friend who has a Audi TT coupe and he says it has a porche engine..and you can redline it all the time and it's supposed to be driven that way
he also said the corvette can't be driven like a porche and I should never red line it....it this true?
I never even come close to redlining my 2004 zo6 vette....i guess i drive it like Miss Daisy LOL
its this car meant to be driven like a porche?
and does it have "drive memory" meaning if you drive it slow it will lose it's rocket sense?

Your buddy is completely wrong. When GM developed the C5 Z06 they ran the LS6 at redline for 36 hours straight and no problems. I drive the hell out of my car, on and off the racetrack, and never had any problems or burnt an oz. of oil.
Your “friend” is playing mind games. He figures if he can convince you to always shift your Z06 at 3000 rpm his high dollar Volkswagen might stand a chance against you.
Tach it up to 6300 or so, you won’t hurt it!
Please don’t drive it like a Porsche, I’m sure you are capable of much better……
Assuming he's got the 3.2L, it's a VW VR6 motor. 15deg vee...unlike Porsche's usual 180deg vee. Not that it's not a good motor, but it's all VW. Oh, and the TT's build on the same platform as the VW Golf.
You might also point out the location of the assembly plant...Győr, Hungary, not Ingolstadt.
People who drive Audis, and don't know anything about their car, should learn to keep quiet.
