Default Code 410 Help?

I am the new guy here. Hi. As a former big block 69 owner I am now the proud owner of a 2000 coupe. I recently installed a Blackwing filter, 1000cfm MAF housing, smooth coupler, X pipe and Corsa Pace Car Tigershark exhaust. I am getting a p410 secondary air pump code. I checked the pump and it is operating. Though I do not know how much air this pump is supposed to be moving. I can feel some air coming out of the line that goes to the air filter when it is running. I cleared the code but it comes back. What now? Is it possible that there is so much air flow that the computer does not recognize that the pump is working? Before I put a custom tune on this car I would like to clear up this code.

To make sure I have the right info, Its a 2000 Corvette right? Cause thats what I posted for.

Are you sure you want to do this your self. Cause it says to use a scan tool but trust me if you know how the things work you can check them with out a scan tool But with that said I think you might have a bad relay but I don't know I am not there working on it. There's other things it can be and so with that I post these diagnostics for you. Let me know if you need some more info? On the 3rd page only use the stuff highlighted in black, for the end of the information.

And I am not going to host these for to long so print this stuff off ASAP.

Thanks for the info. If the relay is bad would the pump still come on? Also what is the purpose of this pump? Will operating the car with the code set do any harm? I'm an old carb and distributor guy so some of this C5 stuff is new to me, but I'm willing to learn all I can about how this car works.

Its not good to run these cars with code's in them. But I know the C5 I work on has code's in it all the time. But let me check about the other stuff you were talking about and get back with you.

I gave you the function of the air pump but I highlighted the reason they say the P0410 codes comes up. You might have some issues going on with Oxygen sensors ( O2 sensors ). Look at it here:

I added how to make sure things are working right, to test the relay in away. If you had a Scan tool you would be able to look at all this and to test it by the Scan tool. You really need someone with a scan tool, it will help you alot. Its better to see the data to make sure things are working. But look here for relay function and air pump working right.

Last but not least check for any vacuum leaks, Vacuum diagram below

You really need to have some one check this stuff with a Scan tool, Alot faster to make sure what really is going on, and to see if the O2's are working like they should and other things. Scan tool for this is the best thing to do. So you can look at the Data the PCM is seeing. If you have to do those state emission tests you will not pass it with whats going on. And if something is going on with the Oxygen senors, that needs to be checked. Driving it with O2's not reading right can hurt the engine cause it wont really know to lead or rich the engine right and engine damage can occur. Get it checked by a Shop with a Scan Tool. This is out of your area, and you need a scan tool.

If you plan to work on these new cars like this a Scan tool is a must. Something that you can get data from the computer with. Not your code readers. I've paid about $2000 for my Snap-on. So they can be costly. Let me know if you need anymore help.
