I'm having some put in too...not sure about the answer to your ? because I am in no way deeming myself qualified to even attempt to cut the panels of my car...
Anyways...I have the car at another location for the time being and they will do the install, along with a bunch of other things....
My main question is, where did you get them and how much did you pay for them....I got them for like $180 shipped from vspeedinc off of ebay...
I am installing my new ducts .... is the template the same for both sides.....Just reverse it for the other side??
I only got one template and its not marked for either side,,,aso I assume this is how you do it....
seems to fit either duct well
Yes, the template is for both sides, just reverse it. There is a nice write up on the installation on this forum. Search the archives. I used a roto zip to cut the hole out, Worked like a charm.
got me a new rotzip for the job,, did it make a bunch of dust???
got the ducts off e-bay, best price I found and are GM , 10 shipped...
seems pretty easy
thanks
Yes, It makes a lot of dust. But it makes a nice clean cut. Did it in the garage, just close the car windows. I also applied masking tape and then traced the template on it. It is also my understanding that the jig saw is also I good method, but I can not tell you this first hand experience.
Wow, I just looked at the above link of the blue car. The roto zip is no way that dusty! The dremal 1/2 round sanding disk attached to the roto zip does a great job on plastic wheel well cuts.
