When will 18" Kumhos be available?

For some time I have heard that Kumho was coming out with an 18" competition tire (the V700 series I think). At first it was April 2001, but so far no sign of the tires. Does anyone have any insight here?

They are listed on the tire rack's site... http://www.tirerack.com/tires/kumho/ku_ecsta_v700.jsp

I'm not sure if that means they are available though.

I've been looking at tire sizes for my Z06 and wondering the same thing.

It looks like the best bet may be to go to 17"s all around, they just don't make performance tires in Z06 sizes.

265/40/17 Front
295/35/18 Rear

Unfortunately the new tire from Kumho is not going to be enough for the Z-06 cars. It would compliment a LS1 Car very nicely, due to LS1 models, having taller gears, and 9.5" rears.

The tire from Kumho is a 285/30/18 and will match well with a 255/40/17 Front.

However... On a Z-06... the 285/30/18 has a lower overall diameter than the 275/40/17 Fronts.

For Z-06 Owners that want to run Kumho's I would recommend the new 335/35/17 which fits a 17X12" wheel Nicely.

I was able to do some testing with the new Kumho, and they are much better, and Lighter ,however... the 18" is 'loose' on the 10.5" rear wheel of a Z-06.

This is extremly BAD news! I need more like 18" x 275+ in front and 18" x 315 in back.

What does that leave? Hoosier race slicks? YOu cannot drive to the track on those?

Does Yokohama or Toyo or someone else make a treaded racing tire for road courses that is reasonably priced? Guess I need to call Tire Rack!

Mako, Yokohama doesn't have one.

Toyo's is a Full treaded 'Street Tire' Treadwear 240! You don't want that.

the 285/30/18's would work great on the Front, and then the 335/35/17's in the rear would be nice.
