C5 issues?
Hello All!
Just wondering - I'm in the market for my first Vette, and I've heard pleanty about the issues with C4's and the Optispark. Does the C5 have any issues like this? I don't mean with the Optispark, I mean general issues that seem to affect a large cross section of the population. I've heard a little about the column lock and leaking diffs, but nothing specific. Did I miss something in my searches? Thanks for the help!

Read the sticky at the top of the C5 General section called weights, measures ratios... etc
If has a very good list of issue....
Which include
Column lock
Dim A/C display,
Fob lock irregularity
differential leak
gas gauge irregularity
oil consumption in '01
headlight gear wear
etc

Now really...
I have had my C5 (2002 cvt) for 3 years now, and I have been on avearge once a month to my dealership, for this and that (list too long). As far as I am concerned, the C5 design is outstanding, but the actual build quality is that of an average econobox from the 60s...
However, you own a Corvette because of what you feel when you drive it, and very few cars will give you that, so you just learn to live with the other things ... and get an extended warranty with 0 deductible.
