Default Header question

I've got the urge for more mods . I don't have the money for H&C yet, so am looking at cheaper things that would net me some decent power.

So, I'm considering maybe just a cam, or headers, so I have a few questions.

Which would likely net more with stock heads?

Would a cam cause reliability issues with stock springs? (I'm considering GM hotcam because I believe it comes with a new spring package)

And, do long tubes (since you lose precats) create "legal difficulties"?

Thanks for the inputs!

Jonathan :D

Dude, I tossed around the same dilemma....had $1000 bucks to burn. Cam or Headers?

I decided cam is not worth a damn if it can't breathe. Since both will net about the same. I chose to go the Header route. this way when I am ready to add the cam I'll get the most I can from it.

Plus the springs and pushrods will need to be beefed up for a cam. That brings the price up significantly.

Build a good foundation for the Cam and or the Heads and you'll be happier with the results. :D
Hope this helps....

Just installed the TPIS long tube headers. Not that big a deal. Recommend going with the cam.
