Stock Torque converter Stall?????
What is the Stall on a stock C5 torque converter? Anybody Know?????

I was thinking 1600, somewhere between 1300 and 1800 for sure.

Since I am new at this could someone explain why a higher stall torque converter is needed? What does is to for performance?

Stock stall is about 1,600. If your car is stock, you don't need a high stall. If you go with a cam, you need to match the stall to the RPM range that is best for your setup. A high stall converter also increases the torque of your car.

Yes you don't NEED one, but it still can make a night and day difference. I had a 4000 stall with stock internals, check my sig for #'s.
