Default Adjusting rockers

When switching heads on a LS1 how do you know if you are at TDC so you can tighten down the rocker arms? I remember on my 93 there was an arrow on the crank pulley that indicated you were there and you went through a sequence of adjusting certain rockers then rotate the crank and adjust the remaining rockers. Thanks for you're help!

LS1's are non adjustable from factory. I believe they are torqued to 22 foot pounds and thats it. When switching heads and or cams the adjustment is made by going with different sized pushrods.

I use a boroscope, but when the intake valve closes you can put a finger over the spark plug hole and wait for the air to stop.

To install the rockers, you need to have the #1 piston at TDC then tighten as follows:

Install and torque rocker arms at exhaust 1,2,7,8 & intake 1,3,4,5 to 22 lb-ft

Rotate the crank 360 degrees then:

Install and torque rocker arms at exhaust 3,4,5,6 & intake 2,6,7,8 to 22 lb-ft
