Default 402 is alive!

It's in and running. Only two things acting funky out of the whole project and it was more than just putting the engine in.

One, idling funky so per suggestions and going against what I said in a thread a while back, I will drill the 7/32" hole in the t-body. FIXED - broken MAP sensor.

Two, my XD-1 gauge won't calibrate for some reason. I'll figure that one out later. FIXED - lose connection. Can't wait to take the test run!

Well chalk me up for one of the stupid Darwin awards!!!!! I like to put rags in everything to avoid foreign materials entering where they shouldn't, well one of the problems was leaving a rag in the front of the intake behind the t-body. Glad that didn't get sucked in.

DONT DRILL A HOLE!!! It will learn how to idle... drive it for 100 miles and baby it down to an idle by barley touching the gas!!! i promise it will learn eventually. it WILL still surge until you get it tuned. but i will learn how to idle. My 408 with an ls2 tb and fast 90 with a 240/244 cam did.. save your tuner the headache..

Congrats on the finished project feels GREAT doesnt it !!

Has the base tune already. I brought the PCM in for it. I'll talk with them again tomorrow about drilling the hole. If I can feather it, fine. I'll just break the engine in that way. Gonna be installing the STS after the break in so it will be on site tuning for that. I'm sure any bugs will be worked out.

Oh yea, while the XD-1 won't free air calibrate for some reason, the SPA gauge I got from Brian at ICS works great! Well, at least the fuel side, haven't hooked anything up to the boost sensor yet.

Is your car starting to learn the idle better today My car ran a little rough at first and my tuner put in my buddies tune in mine after a few hundred miles and my car has run great ever since and of course better after the final tune--I had my blower in during breakin and drove the car pretty easy at first until I had 800 miles on it and then you know the need for boost
