I'm about to refresh a pair of C5 calipers. I bought the kit from GM, any hints, tricks etc?
Would anyone know if the c5 and F-body (ls1 car) rear calipers are different in any way?
Also would anyone know what if any differences there are in bore size between a C5 master and a LS1 f-car master?
I am installing C5 front brakes on my 69 Camaro which is already equipped with LS1 rears.
They are pretty straight forward, but I had some trouble getting out the pistons and the calipers were even new. Took quite a bit of air pressure. I ended up putting a piece of progessively thinner wood in front of the pistons and then applied the air to push them out. They would move out to hit the wood and then I would stop and use a new piece only thinner and repeat the process. As they get farther out they are easier to remove.
