Default C5 Wheel Offset Same Front And Back?

I've got a customer who wants to change from 18's in the rear and 17's up front to 18's upfront and 19's in the rear so he can run the new C6 Z06 calipers. Can someone tell me if the wheel offset is the same up front as it is for the back wheels?

Thanks.

According to the sticky in the 'General' section, the fronts are 8.5 X 17 with 58mm offset. The rears are 9.5 X 18 with 65mm offset.

The offset is also stamped on the back of the wheels. ie: 57,58, or 65 mm.

The rears will fit in the front. Now is the offset ideal well it depends on the offset of the rears. Its a good idea to move the both out the same amount so the front isn't wider than the rear or vice versa. At least not much more then the enginers intended them to be.

please correct me if i'm wrong, been a long time since i sat in a math class the way i figure it the rear 18x9.5 +65mm offset would only stick out 3mm more than the 17x8.5 +56mm offset

The C5 rear wheels will stick out about 1/4" (approx 6mm) more than the stock C5 front wheels. They will still be tucked into the fenders plenty though, as the frontspace doesn't exceed that of the stock Z06 front wheels.

To keep the front wheels tucked, you want no more than 3 1/8" frontspace (which is what the front Z wheels are). The stock C5 fronts have 2.47" FS, and the C5 rear wheels have 2.7" Yes, the stock C5 wheels are tucked way into the fenders....there's plenty of room to grow.

Although only very slightly different than what Glenn posted, the correct numbers are:

C5:
Front 17x8.5 - 58mm
Rear 18x9.5 - 65mm

Z06:
Front 17x9.5 - 54mm
Rear 18x10.5 - 58mm

The rear C5 18x9.5 wheel works just fine on the front.

before you plan on it, they do not make a thin spoke replica in a 19".

the best you'll find is an 18x10.5 thin spoke.

oh then you should have no problems because those wheels can be had in 19s or even 20s.

if your current rear wheels are stock z size 18x10.5 they may be too wide for the front, but I don't personally know. an 18x9.5 will work for sure.

I'm getting ready to do something with my wheels and want something a little out of the ordinary to replace the wagon wheels. I was thinking about getting the ww's chromed until I moved to my current location. Upon arriving, I find out there is an identical white vert/ oak top with chromed ww's in the 'hood....wellll, not wanting to be a twinkie, I guess plan B is in order...

What do you think of these? It would be 18" all around..

They look ok, but in the available sizes listed in the right bolt pattern, there isn't a suitable offset for the C5.

Both the 18x9 (24mm) and 18x10 (41mm) would stick out of the fenders substantially, 3/4-1" or so. It would look very tacky.
