Default PCM removal

What a pain for ME. I tried to remove the PCM got as far as removing the two front screws that holds that front unit on the bracket that holds the PCM in place. Couldn't get the back screw to loosen to drop it out of the way. Second cannot loosen the back screw(in a tight place) that holds the front of the clamp that holds the PCM in place.
And last I could not unplug the wires to the PCM.
So what is the secret to all this removal? At this point it look as though I won't be removing it to send it in to be upgraded from a '97 to a '98 OS.
Any helpful suggestions out there?

Did you remove the filler piece that is behind the wheel well liner? It's the piece that blocks off the front of the scoop. There's not enough room if you don't. The TAC should come off easily. The back fastener on the PCM bracket is still a PITA, but you can do it. The PCM wiring harnesses are held in place by screws. You have to get underneath and unscrew them. They then pull off easily.

Hi Taylor,
Yes I took the cove filler out. I tried to unscrew the TAC back screw but still a pain BUT I'll try again. The PCM back screw is not suppose to be taken all the way out right? OK the PCM screws can be gotten at from under neat how many screws are they? I'll get under neat and look for them. Thanks this gives me hope...

I can't imagine how you squeezed it out without removing the TAC and loosening the rear bracket screw, but hey, if it works it works.
