This weekend went out early in the morning...started car and no headlight raise. Lights come on but both headlights do not pop up and no noise related to bad gears. I had a new stalk and driver's side motor installed about 18 months ago. No codes thrown but will check fuses next. Can anyone tell me the fuse numbers related to headlight operation?? Have checked forum for prior posts and have come up with #6, maxi #52, and #2.
Also make sure they are plugged in. The wire plug connections are under the passenger light. You will have to turn the dial to raise them manually first.
You probably know. The cover for the fuse box that has the words "fuse box" on it ARE upside down when the cover is right. Wow - that cost me more time then I want to mention one day. Also you may know, in an emergency, you can turn them up manually with ***** that are labelled under the hood up front.
If you have twilght sentinel option on your vette, Option selected on DIC. Verify that you have this option set to "On" and put a towel or some other object that will block the light over by HUD and if your lights come up, you'll know your motors are good and that there is probably a bad switch between stalk switch and your lights.
I had the exact same problem with my 98 coupe, read a few threads about the battery post not being tight enough. I cleaned the post and snugged them down good and the head lights pop'd right up!
Hope that does it for ya.
There is a module that can go bad, I had to replace mine.
Just did this with your symptons. There is a module underneath the right hand side headlight that controls the motors. The case on mine curled up just enough to suck in water and burn the internals.
I picked one up on E-Bay for $30.
I could hear the relay clicking, and see the lights come on, but they would not come up.
I too, this weekend, took the vette out, 2000, and when I left my garage, the headlights worked fine. Went to a restaurant, and when I went to leave, the lights were on, but they wouldn;t come up. Stopped at a lighted area, and manually raised them. Got home and checked the shop manuals, and decided to try them again. They worked just fine. Sat, same thing, worked great, same thing Sunday and Monday. Was it just a quirk?? Who knows?? Any suggestions?

No suggestions...but I also had a similar thing happen to me a few weeks ago and now nothing for past ten days . Replaced my driver's side motor and headlight stalk about 18 months ago after I heard the common gear noise. This time no noise, just no flip of headlights. Have checked all fuses and battery connections. Will try grounding points next and maybe module. But in Arizona, I don't expect to find corrosion/damage due to moisture.
There's an obscure fuse that controls the lights in the fuse box in the passenger footwell. Its not labelled as being for headlights. I know because I blew it once Its the #6 I think but worth a check. I did a full check on all of them when I had the problem.

Thanx and yeah, did check #6. Still looked good but replaced anyway but no change in gettin' 'em up!
