What year is your car?? I might be able to tune it out of your car with my Tech 2. I'll check and see. If I can, just bring it by my dealership and I'll take care of it for you N/C..

here's a helpful link:

leave your position sensors installed and put the sensor resistors in the 2-wire shock connector. Some say to use 15 ohm 25 watt resistors.

You can also purchase these from lAPD, Ekler's and other vendors.

You can also have the F45 option removed with the TechII tool.
Cheers,
John

98 coupe, what dealership?

Another question comes to mind, after the option is deleted from the BCM, are the shocks still functional for driving, meaning can I drive the vehicle normally after the reprogram until the new shocks are installed.

thnx

And thanx for the offer AMERICAN HP

Good info - but don't waste your money on the SIMMS. Either get it "program-deleted" or use the reisistors - both are nearly free.

Thanx for the info, the Performance shop I go to can perform this task with the tech II.

My question is , what step should I take ,

Install the new shocks , then go have it deleted.(will the vehicle dive normally until the BCM code is removed)

Or have it deleted then install the new shocks

Reason I ask is if the shocks are disconnected before the BCM change am I to understand the vehicle will not go over 80mph, and codes will be flying all over, I have to drive maybe 20 miles on the freeway to get to my tuners location.

thnx

No it can only be done using the GM Tech II, and HP tuner such as Hypertech, predator etc, cannot perform this function.

That is if that is what you meant by HPtuners

Put on your new shocks. Leave the position sensors connected. You'll get error messages C1712, C1717, C1722, C1727 and Service RTD Suspension message to reset on your DIC, but you should be able to drive your car. Not sure if it will limit you to 80mph, but if so, that's not too much trouble for a short time until you can get the Tech 2 thing taken care of.
Cheers
John
