I was looking for the information on putting an on/off switch under the hood for the hood lamp. It was on the forum a few months back, but now I can't find it. Any help is appreciated.

I did this mod very early in the life of my AE. I always leave the hood up after driving....for several reasons. I let the heat-sink out of the engine to save my painted hood liner and to cool the plastic engine trim. And...it looks really cool from the street to see the painted emblem in the garage.
All I did was follow the wiring back to the passenger side of the radiator shroud. I cut both wires and spliced in a switch that is alluminated when the light is on. I bought this one so anyone can find the switch to turn it off.
I had fun with this project due to the endless ways to do it. I was probably slow and **** about it and it still took less that two hours to complete.
NOW....on a bad note the LED light in the switch quit some time after that so most of my wire splicing efforts was for naught.
Doesn't the hood light shut off after around 10 minutes anyways? Last time I was cleaning the K&N, I left the hood up while I went in to let the degreaser soak in, when I went back it was off. Had to lower hood and then raise for it to come back on.
