Modifying a Vortex air intake to avoid Hydrolock..Possible?
I've had my Vortex on the car for a few years and water has never been an issue for me as I dont really take it out in the rain. However I'm thinking of doing more roadtrips like to the CI in Bowling Green and I'm a little concerned if I were to run into major rain and the risk of "Hydrolock".
Is there a way to somewhat limit the chance of this happening. Think I can simply take off the vortex cover and slide a piece of plastic over the hole in the shroud?? That way no water can come up and it would just be an open filter under the hood.
Thats real easy to do and seems like it should be ok....in theory
