Love My C 5. But, with all the new cars on the market pushing 400 + HP I feel a bit old. GTO, MUSTANG, DODGE. gee. 350 t0 375 hp in the vette. I need to do some thing.

Default new cars

It is true that a lot of the new cars list pretty good HP numbers, but remember that most of them weigh 500-1500 lbs more that the vette.

Keep your C5 and just slip in a supercharger or LS2 stroker. Then you'll have modern technology and be able to blow the doors off those other pretenders.

Well, when the C5 came out, it was at the top of the charts...that was 9 years ago.

The numbers have gone up since, but we are still several hundred pounds lighter than almost all other cars out there.

And here's the other kicker about our cars: The aerodynamics can't be beat. While there are many cars today that can out sprint a C5 in the quarter mile, none of them can top-end a C5. I've seen Mustangs that hit 500 rwhp on the dyno, start hitting a brick wall at 140mph.

If it really gets to you, consider a supercharger. A lot of us start with headers and cam and heads and all that. If I had it to do all again, I'd throw a supercharger on there, save some money, get more hp/torque and be done with it.

You can put it back on top for 5 to 10 grand, much less than the cost of a new car, and still have it drive as well as it does now.

East Coast Supercharging (normally aspirated stuff too)
A&A Corvette
And many other good shops.
Choose carefully. Who you go with has everything to do with the outcome.

Just remember, there will always be someone out there faster then you, its just Human nature, you can literally drive yourself crazy trying to keep up with the Jones's, or Sit back and say, Hey I still Have a C5 Corvette.

I have had many showcars in the past, lets say 9 years(wont even get into how many in my lifetime), but out of the Boss Shinoda, Cobra, Saleen,Porsche, and even C4, I still Say to myself whenever I uncover my C5, Damn this just looks ****,(pardon my expression)

The car is different things to different people. It's the looks and handling that does it for me. I'm bone stock other than a Blackwing and my Z06 is all I need just the way it is.

You can change that. Just click on C5 instead of C6 at the top right corner of the screen.
