Default Rough Idle

HI,

I'm a newbie 99 coupe owner with Corsa pipes, X-over, and black wing. Not sure if a rough idle is normal? Car runs great, no pops or anything just a little rough at idle.
Extended warranty expires in 2 months, anything else to check aside from the codes (no more codes after I put a new Optima battery in)!

Thanks,
Dan

Rough idle is not normal unless you have a big cam. The first thing I would check for is a vacuum leak, especially around the mass airflow sensor.

A dirty MAF will also cause poor and or rough idle.

yep...air leaks around the air bridge are common...unmetered air will cause a miss just like a bad wire or plug

So aside from visual inspection how do I find air leaks?

Looks like electrical contact cleaner is reccomended as a cleaner with the MAF off the car.

Thanks for the help, the forum has taught me alot in the past month or so!

I would try switching out the black wing with a stock air box... as we have found in the past some C5's dont run well with that installed. (Its been well documented on this forum)

When I bought my '99 a few months ago I noticed a rough idle. Drove it for about a week. Read the forum suggestions. I ended up putting in a fresh load of fuel along with a bottle of STP injector cleaner. The idle problem was gone in less than 100 miles. Cost.....$2.50
