Well hopefully I will have some input to this discussion when Andy at A&A Corvettes gets my order of the Dewitts radiator with TOC and EOC along with the adapter kit.

I didn't realize that I was actually in an experimental prototype situation.......

But I have faith that between Tom and Andy all will work well and I will have cooler fluids for my tracking addiction

Well that weekend I'm going to the drag strip......I know I won't have any over heating problems there.

So I will call Andy for an install date.....third saturday from now. I will post back here the daily driving temp comparisons. And then on April 12 I will have some track data.

I hope you sent Andy a step by step easy to install directions with lots of pretty pictures........

Tom and Speedy

Installed my Dewitts with internal EOC today.

1. There was room with my Kooks and they did not need to be removed to install the adapter block

2. The sending unit seemed to be in the P line not the R line. We checked this as we wanted to make sure we had the P line going to the lower radiator inlet (hope this is correct)

3. Tom there were some other issues I will call you about

Yep, you want the temp sender in the P line, this will measure the actual engine oil and not the cooled oil. Our graphic was drawn wrong.

Bump for this thread.

1) Has anyone fitted this with Dynatech Headers? I'll give the block a try if not.

2) What are the line thread dimensions used to connect the block and EOC? I'm looking to add a thermostat in-line and will need to make my own lines.

I am in the process of converting C5 to LS2 based stroker motor. The reason I am posting is to bring up a change that may affect those who convert and more importanly, all C6s. I had originally retrofitted LS1 engine with C6 oil pan. This required moving temp sensor and level sensor from LS1 pan to C6 pan as shown on center pan.
The left pan is a stock C6 pan. Note the temp sensor block is gone with now just a blanking plate. The other sinificant change of note is the level connector is now 3 pin which may indicate the temp sensor is now part of the level sensor. The two level sensors look physically similiar and interchange except for the electrical connector. If the temp sensor is not in level sensor, I will soon know that.
I am sure I will want a cooler as will many C6 owners.
Want other pictures?

Hey Tom, are you selling the block now? What is the cost? This may be what I need to run an oil cooler and still be able to tap the same area for the turbos.

Yes, we will sell the block only. I have two designs...one with the 10psi bypass ($249) and one without ($135). Actually the one without is the LPE adapter packaged with all the mounting stuff.

Does the one pictured above have another output so I can run the oil to the turbos? Also, is it the same size as yours? (I have longtubes).

If you look closely at the bottom of the adapter you can see a 1/8" hole for tapping off the block. Some people don't need that, so we include the plug shown. This adapter block is only 1" thick and it will work with any pipes and headers on the market.

Tom,

I have your adapter from the LPE EOC. I did not receive any instructions with the kit and I need to know which port is the primary and which is return on the adapter. Can you help? Do you have diagram for the LPE adapter. I am assuming the auxillary port is connected to the Primary and the oil temperature sensor is connected to the Return.

Cheers!

That could mean a few different things...

The adapter block we just added (LPE) does NOT have a bypass. It is made by Lingenfelter and we offer this as the least expensive way to tap the oil for an external cooler.

We (DeWitts) make another adpater that DOES have a 10psi bypass inside the adpater block. It cost about double the LPE block however it will provide a safety if the hoses and/or cooler ever gets blocked or plugged. GM thought this was a good idea in 2005, and so did we. The bypass will also limit the pressure drop through the cooler so you will never see more than 10psi regardless of rpm.

Another thing "bypass" could mean is with external (air type) oil coolers people are plumbing in a bypass. That is for when the outside air is so cold you don't over cool the oil. That's something totally different than what we offer but other do.
