I was curious is the active handling any different from 99-00 FRC to the 01-03 Z06 other than the active handling can be engaged on a roll from the 02 and up. Thanks
There are only two versions of active handling; pre 2001 (1st generation) and post 2001 (2nd generation), whether or not it's installed in an FRC, Z06 or coupe is not relevant.
And yes, you would find it listed as RPO JL4.
On all C5's before 2001 (well, I think it started in 98 maybe?), AH was an option, not standard until 2001; my 2000 doesn't have it, and to be honest, I couldn't be happier.

Was active handling on all FRC's? How would you know if your car has it?
It was a option on the frc and from what i understand there was not alot of them with this option (including me 2000 frc)
The best way to find out is to hold down your traction button down for 10 secs and see if it pops up on your screen.
I think it first became an option in 98 and maybe when they moved the EBTCM from the rear to the front of the car. It was an option on my car, but unfortunately I didn't get it.

correct, late 98 model year JL4 was offered; Dan covered the '01 and later standard/2nd gen AH topic
how do you know if your 98-00 has JL4/AH other than the RPO JL4 on the glove box sticker? the 'traction control' button will say 'active handling', also the DIC will display trac ctrl/ah on/off or competive mode when hitting button on the JL4 cars
the lateral JL4 sensor is located below the pass side seat next to the tunnel on the floor board, it's about the half the size of a cig pack under the carpet
I did an autocross event this past December in my '03 Z06. The rain was coming down so heavily that we had to use our wipers on high setting while doing the mandatory parade lap around the course before starting competition. I learned first hand how well the AH does its job. Although my LT4 has been to the roadcourse track at Nashville and was a lot of fun, I think I'll stick with the Z06 from now on. AH can and does keep your butt on the track if you work with it. I don't think I have ever seen anyone that has experienced the AH in action that was opposed to it. After all, the NASCAR drivers have expressed a lot of interest in trying to get it onto their tracks. That ought to tell you something!

Two things convince me I don't have AH option:
1. I checked the build sheet for my VIN. JL4 is not listed.
2. During open track events, I've spun my car a few times now and never had any AH assist like others on the forum have talked about.
