Forget about the overpriced AFR's and look into the Dart 225's. Best bang for the buck head on the market today
I don't think the AFR's are overpriced. They've proven themselves and have an excellent reputation.
I love my 205's but I'm just running a mild cam (224-228, 581-589, 114).
As long as we're talking overpriced. How 'bout that car in your sig?
I would think Lou can give you a good estimate, since you are running mostly his parts and he uses the AFR's quite a bit. The AFR 205's are excellent heads, there is no arguing there. I think a better question might be are the 205's the right head for your application or would the 225's be a better approach. Shoot Tony Mamo a PM, he always provides good technical information and is very open to discussing the AFR heads. Maybe he will chime in.

How exactly does that answer the posters question of how much power will be gained with his combo and AFR 205's? You pimped the Dart's and still didn't answer his question.
Anywhoo, I would expect a solid 50 hp gain with AFR 205's.

I figured the owners of the AFR 205's would post there results.
I am debating on the heads. I can pick them up for super cheap but I am also torn on these as well. The livernios heads seem to flow alittle more above 600 lift which my cam has.
You will pick up 50rwhp if you add the heads and a tune.
I have similar mods to you, and I made 430rwhp before I stroked my motor- your headers are also much better than mine though. If I added your headers, I could pout down another 20rwhp over my SLP headers

I think if you add a FAST 90/90 combo with an AFR 205 setup you'll see quite a nice gain with the G5-X3. That is the way I would have gone if i could have afforded it. Upgrading to #243's and a LS6 intake is about all I am going to be able to bankroll for now with my cam install lol.
I'd look for you to in the very least be in the 470rwhp range. Depending on the tune you might even be knocking on 500rwhp. Thats NA of course. You'll see even better dividends on the spray.
Well you gotta figuere that I gotta keep the timing down for the spray which I lose some ponies but a nice 460 n/a whp will be enough. Gonna see if I cant get 600rwhp on spray and hope the block doesnt shoot into the stands at the track...

AFR heads with G5X3 and headers with cats = 455 rwhp
add FAST 90/90 and delete cats = 485 rwhp
Well I went with the stg 3 livernios heads. They seem to flow alittle more above 600 lift then the 205's. I also got them a tad bit cheaper then the 205's. I am hoping for 480rwhp with no cats and stock intake.
Looks like I'm a little late to this thread (crazy busy of late) but for the benefit of others, there is alot more to making power (and choosing the best cylinder head) than looking at peak flow numbers.....a great deal more. Air speed, low and midlift flow, proper cross sectional area, etc. etc. Not to mention trying to compare heads by looking at "advertised" data and flow numbers from different pieces of equipment is another topic entirely. The 205's are usually a little more money but offer the end consumer distinct advantages due to their clean sheet of paper design, unique chamber shape, and stronger, thicker aftermarket castings (perfect for some nitrous use). Their flow curve and cross sectional area is very optimal for a 350-400 inch street/strip engine hence the good results seen here and elsewhere no matter what the combination (mild to wild).
My comments/opinions voiced above are spoken in very general terms of course (not specific to this thread) and I wish Sprayed C5 all the best at achieveing his power goals with his new combo, but at the same time I would have liked to have made a few of the points I touched on above available to you guys and decided to post this info anyway.
