Default On 2000 Corvette Start Noise

At start up when engine is cold I hear a noise.
Sound like a lifter or rocker, once warm up a little I can’t hear it any more.
Just bought the 2000 corvette with 59000 on the engine is this normal

when is the last time you did an oil change? did you check the oil level?

My guess is there is nothing wrong with the car just the oil needs to get back in there after sitting over night.

If you think there are noises now wait until you put in a H/C package - friggin noises all over the place....

My 2000 doesn't do it, but there are a lot of posts about piston slap when first starting cold. Doesn't really hurt anything, just a slight tolerance thing between piston and cylinder, goes away when the piston heats and expands.
Or, could be a lifter just leaking down a bit overnight - all my old smallblocks did this after 50k miles, don't know about the lS1.

Try an oil change, use 5w-30 mobil 1 as recommended.
if the noise persists, but goes away arter waming up,
probably not to worry.

Head Cam Package. When you add the 921 Comp springs the car sounds like a sewing machine.....

There is also a technical bulletin out for the oil pump "O" ring that causes this same problem.

Normal......My 2000 often makes ticking noises for a few minutes after initial start up. I gave up worrying about it after reading about so many others on this forum with the same issue.
