Unfortunately it is a big job. Go to LS1Howto.com and check the C5 heads and cam change. The beginning of the procedure shows you how to do this. In a nutshell, you will need to remove the steering rack. It is not hard, but it is a lot of work. Plan on a day to do the job (I work slow)

Hopefully installing a new bolt will fix the problem. If the inside of the pulley is worn from spinning on the crank, it may not fit correctly and have to be replaced with a new one.

I have the same problem after cam swap on my stock pulley. I tried to move the rack over and up from under the car. Has anyone moved the rack only to get to the bolt?
If not I will pull the hood, and go at it like another cam swap. Just wanted to take a short cut! I got a new bolt and will get a new stock balancer. I will use locktite this time. Any ideas on the shortcut?

What has to be unbolted besides the rack, steering shaft and tie rod ends?

The power steering line have to be removed from the rack also. the two on the drivers side where the steering linkage hooks up. And deff use some locktite on the new bolt.
