Engine Break-in and Oil Consumption
After 7 months and 2000 miles I thought I better check the oil. After reading scores of oil consumption posts I expected to be down a bit, but the stick reads full. I had to make a 650-mile trip home when I picked up my car, and did it in a relatively straight shot (10.5 hours) despite warnings from several forum members. I tried to behave ( :blueangel: ) on the way home, and I did vary speeds and get off the highway on occassion, but I may have gone over 55 mph once or twice ( :lol:). Could my "improper" break-in :bb be the cause my abnormal oil usage? :confused:
