[QUOTE=Evil-Twin]You need to read what I said, before you try to make an Azz out of me.... I said Many have concluded, I did not say Everyone on the forumsee there is a difference in the words many, and everyone..... its two different words with two different meanings.
geeez...if you weren't such an azz
I knew you would be back as soon as I read his reply
I come to C5 tech more and more just to read your replies
MCM with clear center panel. By far the best made hood ive seen. All it took was a quick wet sanding before paint. no high or low spots like most aftermarlet hoods. Well worth the high price tag. If you save a little on a cheap hood, you will spend it at your body shop trying to get it straight.
The underside
If you are talking about the cf hoods they sell on ebay, whare you won't paint it at all (all cf surface) its up to you. It could look good if done right, but it could look really bad if done wrong. They look like the same ones I've seen on rx7's and s2000's and the quality seems to be ok, but not great. You get what you pay for
Be careful if you get one. In front end collision they will go right through the windsheild.
What are you talking about???????????????MCM hoods are all DOT compliant for front end crash. One of the only after market hoods that are break away hoods.
From what I remember reading...I don't think the VIF hood is 100% carbon fiber. I think it's really fiberglass with a more or less cosmetic coat of Carbon Fiber.

I was talking to my Good friend Mike Mikosz the Co owner of MCM this morning. I wanted to get a heads up for those wanting a MCM hood this year.
Unfortunately the co owner and designer of these hoods just passed away...Chuck Wiltsie and Mike started the company together.
Right now they are a few weeks behind. This has thrown production way off.
The bottom line is this: if you order a hood today it will take six weeks to get it. They have the capacity to make 70 more hoods, 16 of them are spoken for... Mike told me , and I already know that Carbon fiber is hard to get, and his November 2005 order for carbon fiber will not be there until July. The cost has doubled. He has enough right now for 70 hoods..
SO with that said, if you want a hood at this price and you want it this year, you need to make up your mind...
Just a heads up
Bill aka ET
