Default LIGHT Wheels - Lightest wheels in proper offsets...

Just looking for options...

I know the stock rears are 21 lbs as I weighed one myself. I imagine the fronts are 18-19 lbs. What wheels are available that are even more lightweight?

maybe you could drill a bunch of holes in the wheel slike swiss cheese. The did that back in the old days in drag racing. Oh wait, that was holes in the frame..........my bad..........

Did you see what MAGNESIUMS WEIGH?

There's a thread or sticky at the top showing you all the weights of wheels and tires and so forth. Maybe it is listed there. magnesium I would think would be light but I haven't been right since............

well my wife never finishes that statement..........

I can't tell if you're being a dick or not, but either way, I know what the weight of the stock wheels is, and I've seen that sticky before. I am looking for lightweight wheel manufacturers that make wheels with the proper offsets for the C5.

If you are going to drive this car on the street with light weight wheels, then consider if you have ever hit a road hazard or a pot hole... Light weight wheels are for the track only... Use them on a public road and they can easily be throw aways... I saw a guy ruin tow wheel in one second running over a pot hole with light weight spun cast wheels... it was a 1200 dollar pot hole... Forged wheels are heavier but they can take a hit... light is not everything. unless you have unlimited money for back ups. Just some things to consider.

Evil,

Valid points. I see you're from PA. I visited a friend up in Philly last year. She has a Track-prepped FD with lightweight Volks and a stiff coilover suspension. When we were driving around, I thought we seriously broke something on the highways between some the joins in the concrete. Your roads up north are CONSIDERABLY worse (I lived in Chicago for 4 years, so I speak from experience) than down here in Florida. Granted, there will always be road hazards, but I'm a very conscientious driver about things in the road after driving my last car with a painted lip that was, not exagerrating, 4 inches from the road.

With that in mind, what manufacturers are out there? I obviously know about CCW.

I was only giving you a heads up about wheels and that light weight is not everything..
There are many good wheels out there...
Iforged seems to have cleaned up its act... they would have been my first choice had they had some sort of customer satisfaction... two years ago they were really bad... the wheels were always beautiful... After 2 years I have started to recommended them to several people,,
Fiske,
HRE
There was a light weight wheel that really looked good SSR-gt, they were sold through tire rack... wheel were beautiful but I know they had issues with light weight and quality.. they had a forged center section, and called them a forged wheel but they were no true forged...
The company changed hands and is trying to get back up and running, I heard their customer complaint ratio, and their guarantee put them under. Some one is trying to resurrect them.

Well excuse me for trying to help. I was NOT trying to be a Dick.......and I am sorry you did NOT post that you were so damn smart to know all the wights of the stock wheels. Guys like you really make me want to get right up there and help you out and then be insulted for trying. If you went ahead and drilled holes in the wheels I guess we would really know who the dick was then huh?

Oh by the way...you are welcome for all my help.

Wow, maybe you should re-read your posts and then think about how you're acting again.

I looked into this last year and found that all the wheels were not much lighter than stock. I thought the better option was to get rid of the runflats to eliminate unsprung weight.
