Pretty nice deal going on in the parts for sale section you may want to look at...

I hear you can also buy a C6 Z51 front rotor bracket from Fred Beans (a supporting vendor) that will allow your current front calipers to "stan off" of the existing mount and then give you the opportunity to use the larger C6 Z51 front rotors...I can't tell you if your stock 17"s in the front will clear this though...but- as you say...when the mod bug bites, you will be looking for newer larger wheels next!

While in there, of course you will want to "heat paint" your calipers your color of choice...I went Red to match my Torch Red 97...

Pads are going to be your biggest help. Rotors-most just look good and don't work that well. If you are going to be racing or doing heavy repeated stopping then you have to look at Fuild-ducts-ss pistons.

I got a set of ceramic pads and drilled rotors from a chevy dealer in Chicago through E-BAY.($345.00) I did not notice any difference over stock. BUT...if you're into visual performance these will add to your BLING. I rode in a C-5 with a $2000.00 + Baer four piston caliper, with huge over size rotors set up ,that WAS incredible! HIGHER PERFORMANCE=HIGHER CASH

A high friction - "high" temperature intermediate pad will be a significant improvement, depending how you drive. Stock pads are low friction, but when you use them hard, you'll smell them. A race pad offers the most perfomance on a track, but they need to be hot to work, so you'll have poor braking on the street. Several pad companies off street/track high friction pads around $100 for the front and $70 for the rear, or just buy Z06 pads. One drawback of these pads is that they do make a lot of dust. If you stay with stock rotors, you can get replacements inexpensively for around $25 each from NAPA and other mail order auto parts companies.
