Quick question:
I just ordered a set of LG Street Headers and I am having them sent to Jethot for coating. I plan on upgrading to the Magnecor wires. With the coated headers, do I still need koolsox? It seems like overkill to me.
thanks,
tony
probably dont need the koolsox. probaby dont even need koolsox without the coating. I hear very good things about the coating. I wish i coated mine when they were off the car.
I have Jet-Hot coated headers and also put on the wire sox. The headers do not get as hot as uncoated but I did not want to take a chance. Cheap insurance.

Also, Magnecore makes a 45 degree plug boot version that may help with clearance. I have found that it depends on the particular brand and size of header tubes, as to whether or not they will help. Sometimes a regular straight plug boot works OK too.
BTW, the factory metal shields work with Magnecore's straight plug boot versions if you're so inclined. HTH

I had my headers shipped from the vette doctors straight to jet hot for coating. Just make sure they send all your parts back with the headers.I didnt get my bolts or gaskets back, called jet hot, they forgot to send them and they didnt seem to concerned that i was waiting on them. Im still waiting on them, said they sent them out last friday, but nothing yet.
Probably around $275-300 for headers only + shipinng there and back (I think they have locations in AZ and PA); x-pipe/pipe to cat-back probably another $150 or so.
As for KoolSox, I had my incoming LG Pros Jet Hot Coated, will be using KoolSox, will be installing a ceramic-coated tunnel-plate and running o2 wires above it and will be wrapping any wires/lines anywhere near the exhaust with Thermo Tech hi-temp tape.
That's overkill but hey, in for a penny, in for a pound!
