Default How Do You Remove The Radiator Shroud?

I am trying to remove the radiator shroud (the slanted one) and have removed all of the screws and the wiring connectors. I only have the two pins with the push nuts to go. Is there a way to remove the nut? Do I just pry on the shroud and hope that the nut pops off? I am not interested in breaking anything and don't have any of the pins - so i don't want to break those either.

Any advise would be helpful.

Thanks

there are five 7 mm screws on the bottom and two 7mm screws at the bottom on each side as well as two plastic clips on each side that need to be removed.

I had to remove my shroud a few weeks ago to instal the Vara Ram. The shroud seems to have an exacy fit or even larger then the area it has to come out of. All the screws under the car have to be removed. The screws under the car hold the air deflector, crash/curb brackets and plastic in place. There were about 12 to 15 screws. The radiator shroud on top of the radiator must come off befroe the shroud. The plastic piece across the top of the radiatior is the top surport for the shroud. When all of this has been removed, You will need to wiggle the shroud out. Funny how this will go in easier then when it is coming out.

A step-by-step procedure for removing the lower radiator cover (shroud) is contained in my CAI mod procedure at

Thanks for the previous suggestions/comments. However, I need specific info about the push nuts/pin.

Anyone have any comments for this?

When I removed mine, I just grabbed the edge (one side at a time) and just gave it a sharp yank forward. This of course after all the other screws were removed. The pins just popped out on the head end, leaving them still in the shroud itself. I then removed the shroud, and removed the pins carefully so as to save the little PAL type push on nut on the driver's side. I had to do a little minor straightening of the metal retainer nut with some needle-nosed plier so I could re-use it.
When re-installing the shroud, I just reached in and re-inserted the plastic pin's head into the holes just like before, put the shroud in position, pushed it back onto the pins, then reached in and pushed the push-on retainer nut back on. Worked great.
HTH,
Robert

I had the same problem when I was trying to remove my shroud and Lonestar gave me the same tip. Worked like a charm. I just yanked the shroud forward and pull the christmas tree looking plastic push pin through the hole in the metal mount. Then the shroud was free with the push pin and lock washer still in it.

I removed the lock washer with plyers and then pushed it back on when I reassembled everything.
