Default Another tuning question...

I'm still new to the Corvette world & REALLY new to the whole tuning thing but want to learn and do it right

I see these hand-held tuning devices in all the catalogs and a friend of mine always has a laptop plug into his Z28 between track runs (it's a 90's Z28 with 700rwhp). Because there aren’t any tuners in Hawaii that I know of, is it possible to purchase software & some sort of interface with the car, and then download "tunes" from performance websites, etc? Also, is there basic software that will allow you to make changes to various car functions like removing the "1st to 4th Shift" light, maybe make the fans go on at a lower temp, etc? Do I need to buy a palmtop specialize tuning device or can I use my laptop?

TIA & Mahalo

Mark,

Buy HP tuners and you will have all you need.

If you like, we can supply a mail order baseline tune that will get you ready for the track or dyno and give you a reral head-start on tuning your own car.

Charlie

Mahalo Charlie,

Thanks for the heads up on HP tuners & help. Didn't realize you folks are in Oxnard, I'll definitely make the drive next time I'm over in Riverside
