Steering column change:error messages now
I just changed out the steering column in my 99. Problem: The TCS indicator light comes on at about 20 mph & stays on. Also get message scroll across odometer to service traction control. I went through the IPC displays, and, being ignorant, deleted the trouble code. I have no Idea what the code # was. Then I did the research in the shop manuals that I should have done first. Probably would have made no difference anyway.
To get to the point, I need a direction on a scanning tool, or software, so that I will be able to run the steering wheel plausibility test, And basically, diagnose the problems. I'm sure the steering wheel position module is the problem, but I haven't the right equipment to set things straight. Can anybody out there help?
The car runs fine, no brake problems or anything like that. Just the error messages. ?????
