I'm also interested in either a Powerloader or Hypertech. I know that you can take the hypertech off when you need to take your car to GM for service. What about the powerloader? If they flash your PCM will you lose your program? And which one is better for a 6 speed? :seeya
If the P/L program should happen to get flashed over, by a dealer,etc... you can just Re-load the P/L again.

The P/L is best in all aspects!!! but, For a 6 speed, I don't know if the performance gains alone are really worth $500... The most noticable difference is in the (A4) shifting!!! You'd really need to check with people using them with 6 speeds.

IF you just want to change the fan temps or rev limit, etc, the HPP is much less expensive & can usually be found used (mine for a 1998 is for sale ($200) & the post above mentions one for a 00 for sale). I see others in the "parts for sale" forum all the time (just make sure it's for your year car & that the previous owner "un-installed" it (returned to stock), so it will accept the new/different VIN for your car.
