Hey guys, I'm new to the vette scene, but am looking to get into it. Question relates to your views on the Corsa exhaust.
How does it sound (feel free to try and describe)? Does it effect the performance characteristics? etc..
I just bought Corsa Touring with Tigershark Tips and just installed it this past weekend. My previous muffler system was stock black. My exhaust system is entirely stock including manifolds, cats, and H-pipe.
Inside the car:
Idle: The sound is exactly the same as stock, maybe even quieter…super close
Cruise (70mph): The sound is actually quieter than stock
Normal Acceleration: The sound is close to stock but with a slight rumble (nothing much, maybe just a different tone)
Hard Acceleration: Significantly louder than stock
No resonance at any RMP that I’ve found
Outside the car:
Idle: The sound is close to stock but has more of a rumble
Cruise (70mph): Don’t know
Revving Low (3000RPM peak): Louder than stock
Revving higher (5000RPM peak): Significantly louder than stock (you know its not stock)
The sound on the corsa website is pretty accurate.
I chose the touring because I liked the more subdued sound...if I want it loud, ill just stomp on the gas pedal. Plus, I thought the pacecar sounded too high pitched at higher RPM.
Overall, my touring sytem has really nice tone to it, slightly deeper than stock, a little more rumble to it, nothing extreme.
Performance gains are minimal with any aftermarket exhaust system for the C5. You need to do headers, freeflowing cats (or no cats), an X-pipe, and then a muffler system if you want to see gains. Dont forget a tune for the headers as well...

Stealthy4s reply just about covers it all on the Corsa exhaust, I've had two Corsa pace car systems on a 99 and a 02, they are louder when you accelerate but had no interior resonance at cruising speeds. I would suggest going to a corvette gathering and listening to different exhaust systems.

i have the touring corsa... when my car was stock .. it was great.. kept the car quiet inside while driving stock like.. now that i have headers and a cam.. i feel its too quiet... but great for road trips..
The nice thing about the Corsa is that their interior resonance is significantly lower than other brands. I have a Borla Stinger and it sounds good but has more resonance at highway speeds than my friends Corsa Pacesetter (or whatever the loud Corsa is). I think my Borla gives me a hair more power than the corsa but probably not more than 1-5hp.
They are expensive though.....other brands are half as much.
If long tube headers are part of your future plans you might want to stick with the touring vice the Indy's. I have the Indy's now and if I go long tube headers then my car will be way too loud for my taste. If you do not want headers then the Indy's will get pretty loud with the stock manifolds. No resonance EVER! If you are not doing long tubes then you should also consider the corsa x-pipe. If you are doing long tubes then you should pass on the x-pipe for now because it will usually be included with the LT header kit.
The tigershark tips will run about 200 more than the pro-series. I got mine on ebay for 1093 shipped. Thats the cheapest I found and I check EVERYWHERE. The pro-series tips go for about 850
Check out West Coast Corvette's Corsa Daytona. I put them on my 04 stock engine C5 with American Racing headers by the Vette Doctors and Blackwing filter. So far so good and I like the slightly more aggresive than stock sound. Good luck and happy "VETTING"
You really need to hear some before you make up your mind. I've heard all kinds and know that the size of the cam makes a big difference in the way an exhaust sounds. You should edit your sig to show your state. Maybe someone near you has what your interested in and will let you hear it. Good Luck and have fun modding.
I have the Corsa X pipe and Corsa Indy TS tips the only difference between the pro series and the TS is the location of the tips. I love the sound of the Corsa system but every one has there own taste, the Corsa is very quiet untill you give it some gas and then it comes alive. And ya vetting Daytona, Indy what ever it takes
I put the Corsa Indy's along with an x pipe last summer just before leaving on a 3000 mile trip. No resonance at crusing speeds, nice and quite, but put your foot in to it and the sound is terrific. I'm definitely pleased with the exhaust system.
I'm running the Indy Pace car... Great sound without any resonance. I then added Long tube headers from LGM. The car is Nascar loud when you floor it. I've had people tell me it sounds like open headers. Freeway and normal driving is not that bad. Without headers the Indy model is perfect, if yoy plan on adding long tube headers in the future look into the Touring model unless you want to turn heads. The best recommendation is to hear them in person.

they are pretty accurate acually they sound even better in person but deffinately gave me the confidence to choose the indy's

If you have future plans to go with a heads/cam setup... I would consider the touring BIG time (see my vid above).... The Indys are Crazy loud with a heads/cam setup.
If you have a stock setup then I recommend the Indys...
