Z06 Wheel Tech Question.
I understand the 2001 Z06 has forged wheels and the new C6 Z06 has cast "spun" wheels.
Does the C5 2002 - 2004 Z06 have cast or cast spun wheels?
If so what is the advatages between cast and cast spun?
I read somewhere that the forged wheels on the 2001 are approx. 1 lb lighter then the cast wheels on the 02-04. I also read that the Z16 has cast spun wheels which are about the same weight as the 01 forged wheels. Seems confusing I know, but can anyone sort this out?

I'll try and answer your questions in order:
'01 wheels were forged.
I don't know how the C6 Z06 wheels are made.
'02-'04 Z06 wheels are spun cast to the best of my knowledge.
Spun cast wheel should either be stronger (for the same amount of material) or lighter (for the same strength) as a plain gravity cast wheel.
The '01 forged are slightly heavier (somewhere around 6-8 oz. per wheel) than the spun cast.
The Z16 wheel is simply a polished spun cast wheel; as to what you read about its weight, I believe that info was wrong.
