Wooo hoooo... PLII went in today... As background, Y2k A4 coupe with 2.73's, Borla Catbacks and ProFlow+...
All I can say is DAMN... The SOTP on the PLII has just been awesome. You can feel the behavioral difference in the tranny immediately. The car actually finally feels and sounds like what I was originally expecting :D
If you've got an A4 you have GOT to do these basic mods: air, exhaust and PL... the difference is just AWESOME for a reasonable investment...
Is anyone worried about tranny life after doing this? The whole reason the torque is cutback on the shift is to prolong tranny life. Take this away and well.... umm ya know what I'm saying?

Good Question!!! I wonder about this also????
I just got my Powerloader installed & while I'm enjoying the firmer shifts.. They do seem to also be very "hard" shifts, It would seem that they almost have to put more wear & tear on the tranny.
I am not sure about the C5 on this one but... Most times on a mechanically sound tranny a shift kit will prolong tranny life. I'm thinking since the trans in the C5 is electronic, the Powerloader is doing the same as a shift kit- increasing line pressure to give firm crisp shifts. Soft shifts are the result of slipping the bands/ clutch packs- promotes wear. Cut down on slippage, cut down on wear.

I read a post a while ago from Steve Cole. As I recall, he said something very similar to this.

spookyp..........I just got "loaded" (no, I don't drink) about an hour ago. Not to sound like an infomercial, but YEA BABY! The Powerloader ROCKS!!
The ONLY downside that I can come up with is that the tranny seems to "hunt" more now. And, of course, the shifts are MUCH more noticable. But, then, that's the point. Right?
Thanks Steve etc.. I hope you become richer than Bill Gates. You deserve it. :yesnod: :yesnod:
Oh, on another note: You'll notice that you'll go through a lot more windshield washer fluid. At one point during a WOT run, there must have been 25 drops of windshield washer fluid all over the windshield.
Some time ago I was interested in a Powerloader. I asked questions and got some answers but nothing that really told me anything about the unit. I sent to the manufacture I was directed to and got a brochure that was less and informative. Maybe not even the same unit. Can some one help by answering a few questions?
1. Is this a garage operation where someone programs each unit individually? Who makes the unit?
2. I read that you must supply the VIN. Does this unit only work on thie one VIN?
3. If I start with a 2.76 rear and go to a 3.42 rear do I have to send the unit back and get it reprogrammed? Same for making other mods. Or, can I tell the unit what I have and it programs the CPU?
4. How much does the unit cost.
5. How easy is it to install (upload or whatever)?
6. What is the wait time to receive a unit?
I thank you for you responses in advance.
Powerloader is GREAT!
It is programmed to each car (based upon mods, axle ratio, tire sizes, etc.)
Contact Exit28 on this forum for details.
The cost is less than $500 (I think the GP was $425 plus shipping).
Instructions on loading are simple and easy to load. Total time is 10 minutes, at most to load. Anyone that can drive a Vette and post on the Forum can load the Powerloader.
It can only be used on 1 car, and if axle ratio changes or other major mods, needs to be returned and reporgrammed.
Get it - you wish you always had it!

1> Powerloader Programs are wrote specifically for your vehicle specifications and the modifications you have made to it. This is where it is superior to other products in that it is not just a generic program made to work on EVERY car. Steve Cole is the PCM genius behind this product. He writes the program for it and builds the actual units themselves. His companies name is TTS (The Turbo Shop) and his webpage is http://www.ttspowersystems.com ..
2> You must supply your VIN number at the time of Powerloader order as well as all of the other specifications and modifications to your car. This device WILL only operate on your OWN car with the VIN number you supplied.
3> If you start with a 2.73 gear and want to upgrade to a 3.42 gear, you must get your Powerloader reprogrammed. You can send the Powerloader unit back to Steve Cole and for $75-100 he will make any changes you want to the program for new mods, etc. It is necessary for it to be changed for new gears especially because of shift points being based on vehicle speed which will be effected by the gear change.
4> We are a dealer of TTS products and have around 200 happy Powerloader customers out there. Email me if you are interested in placing an order and I will send you an email order form.
5> The build time of the Powerloader has been 4-6 weeks recently.\
spookyp,
Glad to hear yet another person is very happy with the Powerloader. Makes me glad I ordered mine yesterday and at the same time makes me sorry I didn't order it sooner!
Hey Rich, :seeya I would like to have mine too, it's only been five weeks since ordering :cry I know you turn them around when you get them, but damn, I want that sotp too! It's driving me  :yesnod:
1) If I install a cold air system of some kind, will it need to be reprogrammed?
2) If I order a PLII for my totally stock A4 with 2.76 rear and am anticipating getting a 3.42, can I load it and then send the unit in for reprogramming for the 3.42 and what will be the approximate turnaround time? I don't have the gears yet but the 4-5 five weeks delay is about 3-4 weeks out side my patience window.
Thanks for your info. When I order you will be my man.
