My only problem with companies such as Redline and Amsoil is that some of their fluids are not listed on the container as meeting the requirements for a given manufacturer. Most of these products sell at what I consider premium prices. When you call the company to inquire about wether a given product meets the specification called for by the manufacturer you are always told "our product exceeds the requirements of all manufacturers". My question is, if this is true WHY DON"T YOU PUT IT IN WRITING??? Kind of leads me to believe that something is not quite as good as it is made out to be.
If you sell a product and charge a premium price for it and claim that it meets certain specifications, then submit it for testing, have it certified and list the spec. on the container! As for me, I won't use a product that is not certified in writing to meet the manufacturers specification. Any claim that is not backed up with the goods is just advertising hype in my opinion.
I am running with all redline fluids except for the waterwetter. I believe it is a superior lubrication. However Fox does bring up a very valid point, why doesn't redline put it in writing that it meets & or exceeds GM requirements???
FWIW, I checked with my dealership and they told me Red Line Tranny fluid will void the warranty for the transmission. I thought I'd check before I installed it & I'm glad I did.
1)
3) Water Wetter and Dexcool. They are 100% compatible. I have not heard anything about "The dexcool defeats the ability of the wetter to do it's job." as wwashing states.
My point is that it makes Water wetter, not Dexcool wetter. The more water in the solution the more effective Water Wetter will be.
