Default Doing the H/C thing and....

I can't lift the steering rack up high enough to clear the tabs on the cross member

The rubber boot on the rack hits the bottom of the frame.

Any body got any tips/hints???

Keep in mind I am by myself so my options are pretty limited....I don't want to get the wife involved.Things could get ugly.

Thanks

Mark

You'll need to slide it sideways some. It's a combination of wiggling it and rotating and lifting and sliding it. I've slid it both ways and it takes a bit of doing. I take it you're just sliding it towards the passenger side so you don't have to pull it all the way out on the driver's side. That's the best way - especially when you're doing it alone.

Thanks Patches....That is just what I had to do.

I sprayed some WD-40 on the side with the rubber bushing and it seemed to help.

An interesting side note...I went to loosen my crank bolt and found that it was already loose!!!

It took NO effort to remove it.

Looks like I avoided a BIG mess!
