I was cruising around today and noticed that with the clutch engaged, when I was slowing down to a stop light or idling through a parking lot or backing up, I kept hearing what sounded like metal grinding on metal. I checked the brakes and there was nothing stuck in them and there was plenty of pad left (about half to 3/4). It wasn't very pronounced and as a matter of fact was incredibly hard to hear but I could tell it's not normal. I don't think it did it with the clutch disengaged. Also, if I was sitting still and revved the engine up to about 2000rpms or so and let off you could hear a rattling. It didn't matter if the clutch was engaged or not and it's definately not the normal clutch rattle that comes in these cars. Any ideas yall have would be greatly appreciated. Thanks.
Someone posted a week or two a go that they had an exhaust rattle at a certain rpm and they used a spring to put tension on the exhaust system in the front around the H pipe. (I’m a little foggy on the details but maybe someone else can chime in and let us know more info).
Maybe you can do a search and you will find a tread. It maybe the same noise you are hearing.
