maybe coolant leak????
second try on this one....
Maybe I'm just overly paranoid but better safe than sorry, right? So here's the possible problem. This last sunday night after arriving back home from a 3 hr drive across central Arkansas I moved the vette, 2000 coupe with 69,000 miles. I noticed a small wet spot on the driveway measuring about 3" x 4" and was slick when I got it on my fingers but no real color. I thought maybe just condensation. So I let the car sit a bit longer and checked under it again and another small spot was present, maybe 2"x2". and got a light and shined it underneath and could see two small drop waiting to fall and they were a pinkish orange... i figured coolant for sure and they were located on a flange on the passenger side just inside the cat converter. Both spots were gone the next morning and everytime I move the vehicle I check it and there have been no new leaks or wet spots.... my worst fear was a possible leak starting but from where and why would not continue? Any ideas???? any help is greatly appreciated. Thanks, Thomas Sullivan

Pinkish orange is coolant. If it is on the exhaust on the passenger's side I would think it could be from the condensate drain for the A/C. Maybe the color was just the color of the 'otherworldly slime' that grows up there. I know it is on the firewall on the passenger's side and it likes to drip on my head when my car is on the lift and I'm working under there. You'd be surprised to know how much condensate can accumulate up there.
