Default Another Leaky Diff... (PICS) Tips appreciated!

Well, just bought an 02 Z, 21K on the clock and a leaky **** of a diff. What's interesting though is it's my passenger side leaking, I hear more stories about the driver side. Anyways, I got it up on a lift and was inspecting around and notice the leaky side axe has like a mm or 2 more seperation from the diff case than the driver side (see pics). Is this normal or is this the primary cause of the leak? I have a new axle seal and O-ring, just wanting to see if anyone else noticed had this seperation when they had leaks. Any tips/comments appreciated! Thanks

I'm sure if you've read enough posts you are familiar with the standard fix for this..

As far as the position of the half-shaft, don't sweat it. It can "float" several mm between bottoming and hitting the retaining c-clip.

Hey there Bink, long time no see! (Of course that's my fault for doing more lurking than posting over on LS1tech these days)
