I picked one of these things up, seems like a very simple install. A couple questions though, it appears you have to drill a hole for the MAT sensor. So a couple questions on this...
1) hole goes through both the duct and the coupler? Or just the duct?
2) The fittings for the sensor in the original duct, can I just pull all of this out and make it work in the new duct?
3) the size of the hole, a sheet that comes with it says 15/16 hole. I just want to make sure this is correct.
Re: High Flow Duct and coupler Install (Geoff McD)
I just installed the one from West Coast Corvettes and #2 and #3 are correct. The rubber grommet will fit snugly into the new duct in the original location
I got the duct & coupler from West Coast Corvettes as well. So, on #1, does, the coupler go onto the duct so far that the whole needs to go through it as well? Thanks!
Re: High Flow Duct and coupler Install (Geoff McD)
Drill the hole through the duct only. the coupler is flexable and moveable and will have to move forward onto throttlebody. I am not sure it would be wide enough to hook up to throttle body and have the hole drilled in it.
I will try to post a picture that might help you if I can find it again.
