Default 3" exhaust

I'm planning on going to a full 3" exhust (Kooks 3" collector, 3" magnaflow x-pipe, into maganaflow mufflers) from the stock 2 1/2. Will this make the car much louder? I like the sound I have now (very civilized at cruise) but I have a crappy x-pipe, and wanted to change everything to get more flow.

YES! I have TPIS headers, and a Corsa Indy catback, it was fairly mellow with the stock 2 1/2" midpipes and cats with an x pipe. But, when I changed the mids to 3" no cat pipes, keeping the X, it got SERIOUSLY LOUD. Now, it did gain 14 HP and 12 ft/lbs of torque at the wheels, but be prepared for the noise.

Default 3"

I put headers, 3" RT hi-flo cats, SS Works xpipe and 3" Dynomax 16" mufflers with 3" tailpipes on mine. Was not loud. Did H/C pkg. and it is loud. Be prepared.

TPIS 2 1/2" long tubes, Random Tech High flow cat and x-pipe ( 3" ) and 3" straight pipe, no mufflers.

In the cabin at full throttle it is very loud, out side it is not too bad.

low cruze is ok, any moderal acceleration it does get noisy, but the very low back pressure does give a little more power.

Do you think the noise increase was ALL from the 3" pipe, or maybe froma combination of 3" pipes and cat removal?

My guess, 60% delete cats, 40% 3" pipes. Just a guess.
