I was reading in my Official Chevrolet Corvette maintenance manual on replacing the driveshaft rubber couplers and bearings in the torque tube and they say that you have to BALANCE the driveshaft again after doing that.... Have any of you replaced such components and found vibrations afterwords? I'd really like to replace the rubbers seeing how some of the early C5's have issues with those.... But not if it means I'll need a special balancer....
Why are you replacing those parts? I have a 99 FRC too, just hit 30K before I put her away and tore it all apart. Should I do this while it's apart or say to hell with it and wait another 20K?
they make solid couplers and can balance the unit, most run solid in the rear and urethane up front, you may get more info in the F/I section where they are commonly pushing the 600 wheel hp mark

WOW is that convenient... That's 15 minutes from me!
I went with the lwa urithane ones and did not rebalince it. I've put 10 to 15k miles on it since but just recently I've started having trans issues. I think I bent a shift fork but I'm not sure what damage is done I don't think they caused any damage, but I'm not sure yet.
