Crap! I lost the damn shifter rod pin... Anyone have a picture of it? I forgot what it looks like so I can replace it.

It looks like a "hitch pin". Most general hardware stores sell them. You Can also use a drill bit of the correct diameter, or gauge the hole size in the car with a drill, then go to the hardware store with the drill, and buy a pin that's the same diameter. Good luck.

You still might need to adjust the neutral gate, even with an aftermarket shifter. The only difference is that the aftermarket units don't have the clip to store the pin.

If you dropped it in the tunnel, have you tried retrieving it with a magnet?
As others have pointed out, it is only used to keep the shifter in neutral if you ever have to remove the shifter housing and re-install it.

It's the pin that holds the shift rod to the transaxle.. very very important pin.

OOPS! Sounds like you were talking about the roll pin that attaches the shift rod to the transmission shift shaft, that must be driven in.
We assumed you were talking about the pin on the shifter end of the rod called the "shift control neutral lock pin".
