Ennis was a lot of fun tonight.......Very short staging lanes, and it did not rain The track seemed to be hooking pretty good off the line, and I got my best time ever tonight(12.85), and 60' time with street tires(2.04).
It was in the low to mid 80's, and very humid.
I am headed down today though, as the DragWars are going on and I am going to root for my Chevy service adviser. - :D Keith Overturf is racing is Bitchin Camaro!
who cares about thosee times. chris what is your secret??? .501 and .534 reaction times dude that is awesome, great job, and congrats on breakin into the 12's
Yeah the track was fun. I only got into one good race all night- I had to reel in a rustang on the juice, I barely beat him by a tenth. I laid waste to everything else I went up against. I'd like to run against your car next time! That was the first time I was there in my silver Z06. Usually I race my turbo Buick Regal (there was a Buick Grand National there which was running 11.20's). The track seemed to be pretty sticky, I was pulling off 1.9 60 fts on the F1's. I was running a bone showroom stock baseline on a full tank of pump gas and managed a 12.8 at 109.75.
I saw you run my friend's (Closer_2001) coupe near the end of the night. He pulled off a 13.15 @ 109 on his first run with only a Donaldson and a thermostat. The only thing bad about getting to run without waiting is that my car gets hot - 230 on the tempo guage, I don't have a fan switch yet. The track folks don't like it when you run the a/c cuz it condenses water and leaks on the track, so I wasn't able to trick my fans into kicking on to cool it off. I think that's why I had low mph- cuz I know it's pulled harder on the street.
Let the mods begin...
The best part of the night was: "All crickets to lane 12..."
3.8TurboWhat?,
Yeah it was good to meet you, and Closer_2001, out there.......Let me know when you plan on going out there again, and I will try to make it.
You are right about the Crickets. I have never seen so many at one time!
I may not be able to make it down there in the next couple of weeks as I'll be trying to get my 87 turbo regal put back together for Sept 9th Buick/Ford shootout in Ennis.
Great times! I wish I could have made it, but my BMW broke down in BFE Arkansas on Thursday. I'm thinking of trading it in on a Z06, but my wife won't let me since its her daily driver. Maybe I can get the z06 for me and get her a Kia, but put the BMW badging on it. She'd never know the difference. :D
