Fellas,
I've gone back and forth about how much performance I want from my 2001 MN6 coupe. Breaks down like this:
1. Street driven (exclusively)
2. Semi-daily driver. The only time I don't drive it is in bad weather or the destination terrain is unknown (i.e. dirt road, gravel parking lots etc)
3. Drive with both the T/C and A/H on 90% of the time, but will engage competition mode when the moment strikes me. I engage in spirited driving, but not bonkers. The car sees the upper part of the rev range on a regualr basis.
4. Not sure if I will buy run-flats again...probably not.
My dilemma is this:
1. T/C and A/H warnings go off when I get into its a$$ which takes all the fun away. I have a better time in competition, but I can still get the A/H warning on occassion. I'd prefer to leave the A/H on as I'm sure it has saved me from the ditch on many occassions.
2. Having said that, just adding more horsepower isn't making the situation any better.
Conclusion(?):
1. Forget super-charger, NOS, cam/header package etc and just do a simple upgrade: Bolt in a high performance rear end (used 3.73 or higher), exhaust system (headers and Z06 Ti exhaust), LS1 edit, non run-flat performance tires, better brakes, Bilsteins and Z06 springs.
I hope to gain a seat-of-the-pants jump in acceleration, more streetable power, good road manners, better braking and better handling.
Any thoughts? Am I approaching this correctly? Are there better ways to achieve what I want?
I would most definitely do the transaxle, headers, and cat-back before attempting heads/cam or a supercharger. It is a logical step to getting the car to breathe better at both ends (intake and exhaust) before going to the others. Once those are done, I'd invest in a tune.
As for T/C or A/H....I drive in Competitive Mode exclusively...unless it's dewy, misty, or raining. Otherwise, everytime you go to spin the tires T/C will come in and spoil your fun. I would agree that you always want A/H there to save your butt and keep you from being sideways.
I might add to Bill’s post. Put in 4.10 gears. Makes your car “FEEL” like 80 more horsepower. If you are looking for SOTP increase, by far the best bang for the buck.

I have an '01 C5 and owned it since new. I just had the following mods done to get that new car excitement again. With these mods, it's also ready for more agressive HP gain mods if I decide to do any in the future. I'm still in the break-in period and have to drive carefully, but so far, I'm really in love with my car again.
I forgot to mention that I am also installing a front ZO6 sway bar (our rear bar is the same as the ZO6). I really feel our brakes are sufficient for what you are looking to do, and I also don't see the need to change the shocks for the same reason. The ZO6 sway bar is a cheap mod, and I think it will help stiffen/stabilize our cornering.
