This was on the LAPD web Site.

PLEASE NOTE: CRUSH WASHER SUPPLIED SHOULD BE REMOVED AND RE-INSTALLED ON THE OUTSIDE OF THE FITTING WHERE THE CRUSH WASHER IS LOCATED WHEN INSTALLING ON THE VEHICLE. BASICALLY SWAP THE CRUSH WASHER TO THE OPPOSITE SIDE OF THE FITTING BEFORE INSTALLING.

He's talking about the bleeder end - that's talking about the slave side, if memory serves me right.

DAMMIT! Was there a crush washer for the bottom piece where the banjo fitting was, or are you telling me I have to drop my drivetrain down and get this thing off the top part?

Ok, it's 3am, I'm tired and I'm going to bed. I wasted no time tearing it back apart:

To find that the washer was indeed in the wrong spot. I didn't know this, it wasn't leaking so thanks to this thread I found it before it did.

I got the drivetrain out in RECORD time, pulled the slave off and separated that piece. It was chewed up on the side from something, so off to the 24 hour parts store (Gotta love it, 2 miles away!) and got a new washer thing. Got it put back together the right way, put the drivetrain back in, got the rear cradle back in, and gave up for the night. I'm pooped. G'night all!

Nice job of hanging in there!

Incidently, this device was designed by me and then "ripped off" by others. I meant it to be a low cost, effective way for all of us to bleed our clutches.

If you need parts or complete assemblies I suggest you look into these guys.....they are the ones that have all the hardware and will make them up at a fair price. Orme Brothers - The Supplier

Is this a patented part??
If not; why can't anyone put them together and sell them? If A&A could sell them for a few bucks cheaper I'd imagine you sell quite a few of them based on A&A reputation alone here on the forum.

Feel free to put them together or just call the Orme Brothers.

My original was actually better than the ones I've seen, in as much as it was made long enough to be tied into the master so that when it was bled, the fluid could either be recirculated or removed at the owners discretion.

This was an especially helpful post for me as I just installed mine today. I wondered why the washer was where it was and decided to move it down thinking it might be a crush washer. I guessed right thank God! Sorry you had to dive back into that mess. That was a detail easily missed by many in my opinion.
